Summary

From her cell, Rukia watches the sky glow as the cannonball strikes the Shakonmaku and holds, astonishing Aizen that a spirit body could resist the barrier. Suspended in the melted wreckage, the group is warned by Yoruichi that the debris will soon swirl and fling them in different directions if they separate. As the whirlwind erupts, everyone grabs a partner: Ichigo takes Ganju, Sado throws Uryu to Orihime and falls away, and Yoruichi clings to Ichigo before the barrier detonates, scattering the Ryoka four ways.

Kenpachi watches from below, wondering which of them is strongest. Sado braces with his Fullbring, Orihime cushions herself and Uryu with Santen Kesshun, and Ganju uses Seppa to turn the ground to sand and soften his and Ichigo's landing. The two dig out spitting sand, and Ichigo thanks Ganju with a kick to the back. Their relief is brief, as Ikkaku Madarame and Yumichika Ayasegawa drop from a nearby rooftop, Ikkaku gleefully declaring that the intruders have fallen right into their laps.
