Be My Family or Not

On a rooftop, Ichigo drives Shinji Hirako back and demands to know his identity, so Shinji conjures a pharaoh-like Hollow mask across half his face. Calling himself a Shinigami who has crossed into a Hollow's power, he names himself one of the Visored and, spotting a kindred nature in Ichigo's own inner Hollow, urges the boy to join them.

Across town, a night park turns into a battlefield as Uryu, stripped of his Quincy strength, faces the towering Menos Grande. He hurls Ginto tubes and unleashes Heizen, shearing off the Hollow's arm, but it simply grows the limb back through High-Speed Regeneration and presses the attack. Stringing his Silber Draht between two trees, Uryu is caught off guard when the creature's upper half vanishes and reappears overhead, revealing that it was two separate Hollows all along. As the upper body readies its tongue for a killing strike, a massive Heilig Pfeil rips through it and cracks its mask apart. Ryuken Ishida steps onto the scene, scolding his son for his clumsiness.

The seventh chapter shares its name with the twenty-first volume and delivers two pivotal reveals: Shinji's Visored identity and recruitment pitch, and the return of Uryu's father Ryuken as a fully capable Quincy. Its events were adapted into the one hundred tenth anime episode.
