Immanent God Blues

Inside a sealed chamber of hardened silver and glass, a weary Uryu Ishida dodges arrow after arrow loosed by his father, Ryuken Ishida, who insists this ordeal will reawaken the boy's lost Quincy gifts, provided he survives it. Come morning, Yuzu Kurosaki finds Ichigo Kurosaki's bed empty, and Rukia Kuchiki cannot detect his presence anywhere in Karakura Town.

A flashback returns to the previous night, when a freshly healed Rukia brushed off Ichigo's guilt over her injuries and urged him to seek help for the Hollow inside him, only for Ichigo to conclude that Kisuke Urahara has no remedy to offer.

Retracing his steps to the park where he first faced Ulquiorra Cifer and Yammy Llargo, Ichigo feels his eye darken once more and accepts that his present path leads nowhere. At school, Misato Ochi remarks on his outright absence alongside several classmates, while up on the roof Rangiku Matsumoto teases Toshiro Hitsugaya, only to be horrified on learning the Arrancar they barely beat were merely Gillians.

At the shop, Yasutora Sado kneels before Urahara and asks to be trained, and across town Ichigo walks into the Visored's warehouse, where Shinji Hirako reads his arrival as a decision to finally join them and his masked companions. This closing chapter of the twenty-fourth volume, IMMANENT GOD BLUES, was adapted in Episode 122, Visored! The Power of the Awakened.
