Both fighters release Tensa Zangetsu at once, and in the outer world Ichigo Kurosaki's body freezes as a white substance pours from a fresh hole in his chest, signaling to Shinji Hirako that the transformation has truly begun. In the inner realm, the pair cross their oppositely colored blades atop crumbling towers.

Ichigo presses the attack with Shunpo and looses a black Getsuga Tensho, but the Hollow simply waves it aside with one hand before answering with a searing crimson blast of its own that swallows Ichigo whole.

In reality, Lisa Yadomaru's assault ends at the ten-minute mark, and Kensei Muguruma tags in, driving an elbow into the possessed Ichigo before spinning his Shikai and declaring he will be the one to finish it. Shinji urges the real Ichigo to hurry before they are forced to put him down for good.

Within the mind, the Hollow stands bloodied yet dominant, mocking Ichigo as a child aping a master since it wielded Getsuga first. Seizing the boy's blade barehanded, it bleaches the steel white until the weapon crumbles to nothing.
