Summary
On the outskirts of Kagamino City, near half past noon, the spirit of a small girl flees a pack of Hollows before the monsters abruptly burst apart. The survivors scatter, crushed by an overwhelming pressure pouring from above, and its source proves to be the assembled Gotei 13 captains squared off against Aizen's arrancar host.
Ōmaeda's teeth rattle at the sheer weight of Aizen's spiritual pressure, and Suì-Fēng dryly tells him to flee if he wishes. Iba wonders whether they should strike straight at the leader, but Komamura judges it wiser to clear away the figures around him first, given Aizen's uncanny gift. Kyōraku muses over which Espada ranks strongest, and Ukitake admits none of them can know without asking Aizen himself. Hitsugaya's concern is that Aizen may meddle while they are locked with the Espada. To answer that, Yamamoto orders everyone back and unleashes Ryūjin Jakka, walling Aizen, Gin, and Tōsen inside a towering cage of fire with his Jōkaku Enjō. The captains, he notes, can now handle the Espada at their leisure while their master stays penned. From within the blaze Gin remarks that the old man overdid it and asks what they should do, since fighting is impossible; Aizen answers that he will do nothing at all, certain the battle will end without any of them raising a hand.
