Summary

Having robbed Ichigo of his sight, Ginjo kicks him aside and snaps that his complaining has worn thin. When Ichigo questions his motives, Ginjo reminds him that Xcution swore to restore his Shinigami powers and that mastering Fullbring was the opening move toward that end. Ichigo counters that he can no longer trust a man who has blinded him, and Ginjo asks in reply why he ever agreed to train with strangers he could not overpower if things soured. He then tosses his weapon away and comes at Ichigo with bare fists.

When Orihime moves to break up the fight, Ginjo orders Yukio to seal her inside a cage that swallows her voice so completely that no one, not even Yukio, can hear her. Ichigo leans on sound and presence to slip past Ginjo's blows, until Ginjo opens his shoulder and admits he had been permitting those dodges all along. He pins Ichigo down, drives his sword through him, and declares the sparring finished, then coldly promises to kill Sado and Orihime.

Key Events

The threat ignites a fury in Ichigo, and his Fullbring surges and transforms. Ginjo catches the newly materialized blade as it bursts with raw energy, recognizing that the power has at last reached its full form. He tells Ichigo he is proud of him and explains that the flood of energy unleashed as a Fullbring completes can wreck the user's body, so someone must remain at his side to contain the outburst at the risk of their own life, the very reason he insisted on being present. Dropping the menace, he apologizes for overplaying the villain and welcomes Ichigo into Xcution.
