Personality

Everything about Himizu reads as serpentine. He delights in tormenting anyone he judges weak, spins lies to wriggle free of trouble, and habitually flicks out his split tongue. Growing up inside a household built on a hollow marriage taught him to distrust the faces people show, and he learned to sift genuine feeling from pretense. That fixation hardened into a taste for catching others in their lies and dragging their true emotions into the open, as he did to Hyoma Chigiri during the Second Selection. In his view, a personality is nothing more than the mask a person invents through lying, so he regards his own self as that fabrication, which feeds the half-masked air he gives off while playing.

Abilities

Himizu takes the field as a forward. Fitting his theme of deception, his signature tool is the feint, and his showing against Nagi's team in the Second Selection was laced with them. He deploys feints both to slip past defenders and to bait opponents into fixating on him while his teammates drift free. His reading is razor-sharp, especially at sniffing out lies and feints, which is why Tabito Karasu tags him the genius of lies. That instinct let him prey on the weakness Chigiri tried to bury and mirror his rival's every move. On defense he leans on pressing, applying pressure with his hands much the way Karasu does, and Chigiri notes his timing is keen enough to deny a solo charge and force the pass.
