Summary

Gagamaru rescues the ball on the line and Isagi launches a final counter with Bachira, Kunigami, and Chigiri. Using Chigiri as bait rather than a passing option, Isagi holds possession, threads through the defense, and finds himself twenty meters out with Nagi closing from behind. He knows his first touch decides everything. Realizing that trying to control the ball would waste his one chance, he strikes it directly on the first touch, beating the keeper for a 5-4 lead. The whistle blows, and Team Z topple Team V, handing Nagi his first true taste of defeat.

Kunigami invites Kuon to celebrate; Raichi objects, punches him, then declares them even. The Building 5 standings confirm Team V and Team Z advancing in full, joined by top scorers Junichi Wanima, Ikki Niko, and Shoei Baro, giving 25 players to the next round. Isagi tells Bachira he finally understands his talent: predicting the ball but committing to a direct shot instead of a controlling touch. Niko congratulates them and vows a rematch, and Isagi feels his hunger to win swell.

Ego then orders ten days of physical conditioning without a ball, insisting the bottom-ranked players wait while the elite buildings finish their advanced training.

Key Events

When the survivors regroup, Ego drops the truth: Buildings 1 through 4 never existed, and only Building 5 was ever real. The fake hierarchy was staged to shatter their half-formed confidence and stoke a genuine hunger for the top, since players raised in comfortable Japan lack the desperation of strikers like Noel Noa, who clawed out of the slums.

Ego launches the Second Selection, a five-stage gauntlet a hundred times harsher than the first, where only those who clear each stage move on and the true prize is training alongside handpicked world-class players. Rin Itoshi steps up first, juggling one lofted ball into a curling second strike mid-air, and is revealed as Sae Itoshi's younger brother. One by one the players declare their own unreal ambitions, and Isagi walks through the door.

Notes

The episode bridges the First Selection Arc and the Second Selection Arc, using Chaos ga Kiwamaru and WINNER as themes. Its Additional Time skit, "Second Selection Rock-Paper-Scissors," has Team Z argue over entry order after Isagi goes first; Chigiri wins the game with paper, and Raichi is left fuming as the last to go.
