Team Y

Assembled for the round-robin First Selection at Blue Lock, Team Y competes as a Japanese unit in red and black colors. When the stage ends the entire lineup is cut apart from a lone survivor, and the team is disbanded.

What sets Team Y apart is its discipline. The players move as a tightly drilled collective that carries out the instructions of their organizer, Ikki Niko, aiming to smother an opponent's defensive shape and then spring into rapid, clean counterattacks. Across the group stage their record runs hot and cold: a heavy 8-0 defeat to Team V and a narrow 2-1 loss to Team Z sit beside an offscreen 4-3 win over Team X and a 1-1 draw with Team W.

The squad fields Juraki Ito, Ashime Suzuki, Tobio Madoka, Shinichi Konan, Iori Sato, Soshi Kagura, Fuma Rokkaku, Hibiki Okawa, Mareto Takeyama, and Hyuga Koshiba, with Ikki Niko wearing number seven as the side's brain and leader. Niko finishes as the top contributor on four goals and an assist, while Hibiki Okawa chips in a pair of goals. Niko is the only figure from the group to progress beyond the First Selection.
