With the scoreline still blank, the Bastard Munchen and Paris X Gen contest rages on. Isagi zeroes in on Charles as the man to fear, while Kaiser lines up an audacious strike only for Rin to snuff it out.
Chapa restarts play with a throw-in that finds Tokimitsu, who shields Grim and lays the ball off to Nanase. As Raichi and Hiori demand stout defending, Isagi scans the pitch and flags Charles as the key threat. Studying how Charles drifts off the ball against Raichi, Isagi grows certain the Frenchman is working with metavision.
When Gabon tries to feed Charles, Isagi reads it and cuts the pass out. Charles praises the steal and recognizes that Isagi shares his kind of sight, challenging him to a duel over who can read the field more sharply. As they trade words, Grim fends off Shido and nods the ball to Ness, who moves it to Kaiser under pressure from Zantetsu. Kaiser, Grim, and Ness carry it through midfield, Ness picturing his next delivery as the casting of a spell.
Tokimitsu confronts Ness, and as Ness hesitates over the fear that Isagi is reading him, Zantetsu charges, forcing a hurried pass to Kaiser before the steal can land. Kaiser is immediately swarmed by Nanase and Karasu, Karasu claiming him as prey while Nanase fights to leave his own mark in Blue Lock. Boxed in by three defenders, Kaiser still attempts an impossible finish and begins winding up his Kaiser Impact, but Rin nips in with a tackle and dismisses the effort as tepid.
Isagi deduces that Charles relies on metavision and the pair recognize each other as rival readers of the game. Kaiser tries to force an improbable goal, only for Rin to dispossess him before the shot can fire.
In Chapter 250, Isagi studies how Charles drifts off the ball and grows certain that Charles, like himself, relies on metavision, leading Charles to challenge him to a duel over who can read the field more sharply.
