Summary

Piecing together why Karasu weaponized Shido to manufacture a goal, Isagi hears Charles admit he had already gauged how lethal the two could be as a duo. The realization stings, since Isagi has never once sparked the same chemistry with Shido. He recognizes that his own game runs on consuming allies and rivals alike to finish chances himself, whereas Karasu's balance lets him link with almost anyone on the roster.

Taking a feed from Hiori, Karasu drives a long ball straight down the middle to Shido, who slips in behind Gabon. Loki races over to challenge, brashly branding the loose ball a fifty-fifty where the first touch decides everything. Baro beats them both to it, cushions it on his chest, and buries the equalizer to level the score at two apiece. Isagi understands that Baro abandoned the hunt for him and fed on Shido instead, unable to pry a chance loose any other way. Watching Karasu quietly seize command as the self-declared second best, Isagi starts to fear his own grip on Blue Lock is slipping.

With the game squared, France's coach Rodin pulls Loki and Hugo aside and asks whether a loss to Japan leaves them any hope of lifting the World Cup. Hugo answers no, pinning it on Loki's failure to land a fitting finish, while Loki fires back that Hugo's service was poor. Rodin reshapes the setup, demanding sharper and more daring attacks and telling the pair to flaunt their gifts. As play resumes with France on the ball, Hugo reflects that sharing an era and crossing paths with Julien Loki was always written into his fate.
