Hell Devil

This devil is shaped like a centaur whose head bears no features at all save for an enormous mouth twisted into a grimace. Stretched tightly over its frame is flesh that smolders without pause, perpetually alight.

What drives the Hell Devil internally has never been disclosed, leaving its motives a blank beyond a clear willingness to honor the bargains struck with it.

During the International Assassins arc, Santa Claus invokes her pact with the Hell Devil to cast everyone trapped inside a shopping mall down into the underworld, paying the price in three sacrificed children and one of her flawless dolls. A colossal six-fingered hand descends from a rift in the sky to drag the devil hunters away in an instant. That same hand later ferries a piece of the Darkness Devil up to Santa Claus, and when the tables turn, Makima forces Tolka to offer himself wholly to the Hell Devil so the group can be returned to the surface.

In the Control Devil arc, six Anti-Makima Squad agents cut their own throats to summon the devil, begging it to kill Makima and damn her to Hell. It manifests over the fallen hunters but is shredded almost at once by the Chainsaw Devil, newly restored through Denji's body. Even so, it manages to fulfill the contract once a hunter's blood revives it, and its hand reaches down to banish the Chainsaw Devil below. He escapes only by tearing through the gate after fighting off the monsters waiting on the other side. The devil draws its strength from Stygiophobia, the fear of Hell.
