History
Kato appears during the assault Reze launches on the Anti-Devil Second Division's training grounds. He and Tanabe move first to bring her down, calling on Kato's pact with the Mold Devil. That contract works by biting into his own hand for blood and then aiming at a victim, which makes mold erupt within their organs and trigger internal hemorrhaging. It harms only the living, and while regeneration cannot clear the growth, cutting away the tainted flesh can. The mold takes root in Reze's heart and her gut, yet she counters by tearing off her own head and flinging it into the building to regrow elsewhere. Her abandoned body charges the two hunters and detonates, ending Kato's life.
