Ana wears her dark brown hair permed and looks out through hazel eyes. Over a brown dress shirt she throws a black leather jacket, with black trousers and heels below, and she steadies herself on an umbrella repurposed as a cane.

Shrewd and plainspoken, Ana has no patience for nonsense and can be as hard as the moment demands. That sternness sits alongside deep compassion and loyalty, both of which she saves for the few people she truly trusts.

Ana breaks up a clash between one of Santiago's men and a detective named Daveed, having the gang member walked out by a bouncer and firmly asking Daveed to go. Her barkeep, Tory, sends something up to her office through a pneumatic tube, and while she deals with it she is startled by Spike, whom she had believed dead.

Spike explains that a week earlier he became tangled in syndicate affairs, and that very morning an assassin came for him. He asks Ana to keep her ears open for anything worth knowing. In time she overhears Lin and Shin reporting to Vicious through one of her monitors, learning that the assassin Gunther was killed at a church by Fearless, a revelation that enrages Vicious and leaves Ana unsettled. These events unfold during Venus Pop.
