History

In New Tijuana, Asimov and Katerina step into a bar named El Ray, where he tries to move a stash of Red Eye. The wary barkeep wants proof, so Asimov doses himself just as Syndicate men storm in. Juiced on the drug, he drops four of the five attackers but takes a wound to his shoulder.

A 2.5 million woolong reward draws Jet and Spike to the couple. Cornered later at a ship mechanic's shop, Asimov refuses every offer of help and reaches again for the Red Eye. An ambush led by Chivo tears through the room, and after Asimov nearly throttles Jet, Faye drops him with a shot to the neck. Katerina hauls him onto a stolen craft, but he bleeds out during the escape as the warp gate police close in.
