During the 2060s, Pao Pu-Zi worked as a leading advisor to the organization. Seeking a way out, he passed inside knowledge to ISSP detective Jet Black back in 2064. The betrayal stayed hidden until 2071, when the syndicate uncovered it and set out for revenge. Rather than chase Pao directly, its operatives shadowed his daughter, Meifa, gambling that she would lead them to her father. The manhunt collided with the Bebop when one syndicate craft trailed the ship into hyperspace, only for the crew to knock it out of commission.
