European Syndicate

Rooted on the moon Europa, this organization stands as one of the many crime rings that thrive in the lawless corners of the solar system. It rarely operates in the open, and what the record shows of it comes almost entirely from a single tangled history involving one of its killers and a compromised officer of the law.

The group functioned as a regional power on Europa, willing to strike bargains with law enforcement when doing so served its interests. Years before 2071 it arranged for a corrupt police agent to feed it intelligence, then engineered an ambush against an investigator it could not buy off. Jet Black survived the trap but was left maimed, losing his arm and resigning his post soon after. Once one of the syndicate's own killers landed in custody, the outfit quietly restructured its operations so that anything he might reveal would no longer expose it.

Udai Taxim ran as one of the outfit's contract assassins before his eventual capture. Fad, though officially an ISSP agent, aligned himself with the group and helped coordinate the strike that crippled Jet. When Udai reached out in 2071 hoping the syndicate would help him flee a hijacked prison transport, the man who answered turned him down flat and revealed how thoroughly they had erased his usefulness. That contact appeared only as an unseen voice credited as a nameless syndicate figure, performed by Motomu Kiyokawa.
