Ganymede Police Department

Serving as the local face of the ISSP on Ganymede, the department polices one of the busier moons in the settled system. Its officers are recognizable by the PDG marking worn on the backs of their uniforms and painted across their patrol ships, and its casework repeatedly intersects with the bounty hunters who prowl the same waters.

Operating as the regional arm of the wider ISSP network, the department leans on the bounty system to draw hunters toward targets its own force cannot reach. It moved hard against the radical group known as the Space Warriors, first placing a price on their leader and slipping an undercover officer into their ranks. That operation collapsed when the spy went silent and the militants threatened to unleash a bioweapon unless the reward was withdrawn. After the toxin was released regardless, the police reinstated the bounty and coordinated with the crew of the Bebop, ultimately sealing the Astral Gate to lock the extremists away rather than risk their warheads. On a separate case the department circulated a bounty on Rhint Celonias, a claim later collected by Jet Black.

Gett served as the officer sent to infiltrate the Space Warriors before contact with him was lost. As a subdivision of the Inter-Solar System Police, the branch answered to that larger authority, and its investigations repeatedly crossed paths with the bounty hunters aboard the Bebop, from Maria Murdock's militants to the fugitive Rhint Celonias.
