Giraffe and Zebra sat at the top of the Squad's command in this period. Following the failed raid, Giraffe was eventually recovered, but Zebra dropped out of sight for ten years. For most of that stretch the assumption held that Zebra had turned on his comrades and gone into hiding, a belief that Giraffe would ultimately prove false.
