Ryuzaburo Otomo

Otomo voices the Flatwoods Monster in Dandadan, putting the same booming low register that has defined his career into a creature role built for menace. It continues a pattern set by earlier parts such as Myotismon in Digimon and Crocodile in One Piece, where his voice alone signals danger before a character does anything at all. It's a natural extension of a career casting directors have repeatedly turned to for creatures and villains that need real weight behind them.

Now freelance, Otomo previously worked through Aoni Production, then 81 Produce, and later the Tokyo Actors' Consumer's Cooperative Society, building a reputation for villainous, deep-voiced parts alongside contemporaries like Norio Wakamoto. His credits span Lord Giri in Magical Circle Guru Guru, Jusan Saejima in Yusha Keisatsu J-Decker and Black Doom in Shadow the Hedgehog, plus stepping into franchise roles left behind by the deaths of veteran actors including Daisuke Gori and Hirotaka Suzuoki. Some of his dubbing credits have since been re-recorded with Tessho Genda for later home video editions.
