Billy Banx Jr.

A middle-aged man, Billy has a shaggy black mane and a heavy horseshoe mustache, and a crooked cigarette usually dangles from his lips. He favors a billed green hat, a green jacket beneath which sit a white shirt and orange necktie, white gloves patched with orange across the knuckles, and red-and-black plaid trousers. During his short-lived stint on the Sabre Squad he sported a black cape marked at the center with a Scorpio sign.

Billy is relaxed to the point of flippancy, shrugging off Ninny Spangcole's jabs and needling her about her duties in return. Underneath the slouch, though, he takes the work seriously, scrambling Noel and Ninny onto a dragon threat the moment the Sabres were unavailable and quietly arranging overtime for the pair so they would stay motivated. He is also happy to grumble about his own troubles even when, as with his demotion for laziness, he brought them entirely on himself.

Billy greets Noel and Ninny at Wing Bind headquarters and hands out their assignments, dispatching the pair to exterminate a dragon in London while the Sabres train in the north, a decision that earns him a brief promotion to the Sabres. He soon passes the two the job of minding Balgo Parks, a newly made Dragonclad, before being demoted again over his idleness. Warned by Sullivan Squire to protect his subordinates from the ruthless Bruno Bangnyfe, Billy later fires a Magic beam clean through the crown-shaped horn of the fully grown dragon Cinderella, killing her from miles away, and afterward sees Balgo's Punitive Dragon designation lifted.
