Biera is a kindly old machinist from the fourth One Piece film, Dead End Adventure. Pressed into stoking the boiler aboard Gasparde's warship, he endured the work to keep himself and the orphaned Adelle Bascud safe.
Short and aged, Biera has pale skin, a hairless scalp, a white mustache, and matching pale brows. A pink nose sits on his face, and he dresses in a brown shirt with black suspenders, brown gloves, and brown boots.
Deeply protective and warm, Biera plucked Adelle from a river during the raid that wiped out her family and went on to shield her from Gasparde's crew, becoming the closest thing to a father she had. He is no coward either, willing to detonate the very boiler he tended in order to wound the pirate captain and his men.
During the Gasparde Pirates' assault on Elena, Biera rescued the drifting Adelle Bascud from drowning and brought her aboard the Salamander to care for her, only for the ship to be commandeered by Gasparde. To survive and protect the girl, he agreed to run the steamship's boiler. Years later, illness left him bedridden, prompting Anaguma to slip away in search of medicine. Meeting Shuraiya Bascud, Biera pieced together that the bounty hunter and Adelle were siblings. As Luffy battled Gasparde, Biera blew the boiler and sank the ship, presumed lost, yet he resurfaced by lashing flotation rings to himself and even hauled Luffy and Shuraiya to safety. He then revealed Adelle's identity to Shuraiya and convinced him to embrace the sister he had thought long dead.
