History

Yoshi shows up a single time, in the moments after Misa first encounters the detective known as Ryuzaki at To-Oh University. She collects her client and hurries her off to her commitments. Not long after, investigators quietly take Misa into custody, suspecting she is the Second Kira. To keep the arrest from causing alarm and to disguise its true purpose, they book Yoshi as well, fabricating a drug-possession charge against her.

Once Misa walks free, Yoshi never resumes her old job. The role passes first to Touta Matsuda and afterward to Kanzo Mogi. Outside the manga, only the anime keeps her, following the original closely. The live-action films drop the handoff scene, letting Light simply tell Misa to head back to work while he leaves for class, and the television drama replaces her with a male manager under different circumstances.
