The Hand Demon is the central threat of the Final Selection trial, a captive monster bound to Mount Fujikasane who has slain dozens of would-be slayers, including thirteen of Sakonji Urokodaki's students, before facing Tanjiro Kamado.
Once an ordinary man, this demon swelled into a towering, vein-laced brute with olive-toned skin, scarlet claws, and small yellow eyes marked by cross-shaped pupils. After consuming roughly fifty victims, his frame ballooned and his jaws widened into a maw of jagged teeth.
The transformation forced extra arms to sprout across his body. He grew so many limbs that he abandoned clothing entirely, draping the arms over himself, and stopped standing upright, instead scuttling across the ground on his many hands.
The Hand Demon shows no mercy toward people, striking down even those who try to flee. He nurses a fierce grudge against Sakonji Urokodaki for defeating and confining him, and he swears to murder every apprentice the former Water Hashira ever trained. A cruel streak runs through him as well, since he delights in recounting how he killed Sabito and Makomo.
Beneath the bravado lies a terror of dying, and once beheaded he is too frightened to shut his eyes. As a human he often begged his older brother to hold his hand, an old habit that resurfaces in his final moments when he reaches out to Tanjiro and weeps with gratitude as his hand is taken. He also fixates on the passage of time, raging when he learns the Meiji era has given way to the Taisho era while he sat imprisoned for some forty-seven years.
He stands as the deadliest of the demons stationed on Mount Fujikasane, having devoured around fifty humans rather than the one or two typical of the others, thirteen of them being Sakonji's disciples.
His Flesh Manipulation lets him stretch his numerous arms out by several meters, attacking in overwhelming swarms or fusing limbs into one massive arm, and even tunneling them underground to ambush a target from below. Rapid regeneration keeps fresh arms coming throughout a fight without pause. His neck muscles are notoriously tough enough to shatter blades aimed at it, blunting the usual decapitation strategy, though a strong enough strike can still sever it. In Chapter 7 and Episode 4, Tanjiro overcomes him with Water Breathing forms.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle earned $778 million globally and nearly 40 billion yen in Japan, but it still couldn't top Mugen Train's domestic record. Here's why that barely matters....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
