Yūichirō Umehara

In the "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" anime produced by studio Ufotable, Umehara provides the Japanese voice of Hantengu, one of the powerful demons of the Twelve Kizuki who tests the Demon Slayer Corps. The part fits comfortably within a body of work defined by prominent leading and antagonist roles, a reflection of the standing Umehara has built across the anime industry since beginning his career in 2013. By the time he took on the role, he had already become a familiar voice in major franchises, making the casting one more entry in a steadily expanding list of high-profile appearances.

Umehara has voiced a wide range of protagonists and central characters across popular series. He is recognized as the title hero of "Goblin Slayer," Keito Hasumi in "Ensemble Stars!," and Seiya Ryuuguuin in "Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious." His credits also include En Yufuin in "Cute High Earth Defense Club Love!," Vivia Twilight in "Master Detective Archives: Rain Code," and Eugene Sevenstark in "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans." At the 10th Seiyu Awards, Umehara received the Best Rookie Actors Award, an honor tied to his performances as Kurō Hazama in "Young Black Jack" and Wakasa in "Merman in My Tub." Beyond voice acting, he is active as a musician, serving as the vocalist and guitarist of the pop rock group Sir Vanity, which he founded together with Yoshiki Nakajima and two other members.
