Guardian Saturn

She is a small, fairy-like spirit that hovers in the air, cast in a purple light and otherwise identical to Super Sailor Saturn. Like Guardian Pluto, she holds onto that Super-form look even after Sailor Saturn has attained her Eternal state. In the black-and-white manga her glow appears only as a broad circle drawn around her with no visible color, while Crystal outlines the purple along her body.

She is an aspect of the Sailor Guardian she protects, part of Hotaru in the same way her Sailor Crystal is. Her nature is that of a guide, surfacing to point her princess toward her power and to stand with her charge when peril reaches the outer castles.

During the Dream chapters she appears in Elysion as Super Sailor Moon first calls up the Holy Moon Chalice and the solar system soldiers take their princess forms. Hovering before Princess Saturn, she directs her to route power from Titan Castle into the chalice, raising Usagi to Eternal Sailor Moon and letting Hotaru's Saturn Crystal Power, Make Up bring out Eternal Sailor Saturn for the first time before she disappears once the castle is summoned. In the Stars arc Hotaru stays on Earth while Setsuna, Haruka, and Michiru teleport to their castles. Playing in a sandbox with Chibi Chibi, Luna, and Artemis, she feels something terrible unfolding at Charon Castle and teleports there at once. Later, when Eternal Sailor Moon visits the castle, a recording reveals that Guardian Saturn was struck down with Eternal Sailor Saturn by Sailor Galaxia while trying to save Eternal Sailor Pluto and Guardian Pluto.
