The crossover material uses the Shin design: a creature in constant evolution that first wriggles ashore as a gilled, crawling thing before rearing up on two legs in a scarred, red-skinned fourth form. Jagged dorsal fins march down its spine, a vestigial second head caps the tip of its tail, and silvery membranes can slide across its eyes to shield them from harm.

Shin Godzilla lists the monster's height at 118.5 meters; The Real 4-D attraction scales it up to an even 120.

Nothing about Godzilla suggests calculation; it operates as a walking natural disaster. Provocation escalates it, catastrophic energy release exhausts it, and dormancy follows until something disturbs it again. The Real 4-D story closes on a telling beat: once King Ghidorah falls, Godzilla simply wades back into the ocean without menacing anyone further, content to leave humanity alone.

In The Real 4-D attraction, Godzilla knocks a government observation craft called the GLAUX out of the air; Unit-01 under Shinji Ikari snatches the vehicle an instant before it is stomped flat. Asuka Shikinami Langley and Rei Ayanami join the fight in Units 02 and 00, yet every attack accomplishes nothing. The kaiju shrugs the three machines aside with sweeps of its body and tail, punching through their A.T. Fields at will. A purple glow then builds within it, and it fires its heat ray skyward into an unseen shape: the resulting blast congeals into King Ghidorah. The two monsters trade fire, Ghidorah deflecting the heat ray and hurling whole buildings with its gravity bolts, until Godzilla topples into suspended animation after barraging its rival with dorsal plate beams. The Evangelions prove helpless on their own; even a tower spike that Unit-01 rams into Ghidorah's chest leaves the space monster unhurt. Blasting the dormant kaiju backfires by waking it. The revived Godzilla locks beams with Ghidorah, steadily overpowers the gravity streams, and erases its enemy in a blinding flash before returning quietly to the sea.

Its debut film opens with the Japan Coast Guard boarding a deserted yacht moments before something floods the Aqua-Line tunnel. Government official Rando Yaguchi correctly guesses a living culprit, and the creature soon crawls through the Kamata district, evolving mid-rampage into a red biped before overheating and retreating to the water. Research ties its metabolism to nuclear fission, and coded notes left aboard the yacht by zoology professor Goro Maki, a man whose warnings both governments buried, supply the monster's name. Godzilla comes back at twice its earlier size, walks through the Self-Defense Forces, and answers an American bunker-buster strike by torching a huge swath of Tokyo with atomic beams from its mouth, its back, and even its tail, killing the country's senior leadership before falling dormant. Facing a UN deadline for a thermonuclear strike, Yaguchi's team deciphers Maki's research and learns the monster's blood and plates form a cooling system, and that it evolves endlessly and can reproduce without a mate. Their freeze plan unfolds hours before the bomb: drones bait Godzilla into spending its energy, demolition charges and explosive-packed trains knock it off its feet, and tanker trucks pump coagulant down its throat at heavy cost in lives. The kaiju freezes solid in the heart of Tokyo. Its fallout proves short-lived, the city can be rebuilt, and Japan accepts that any reawakening triggers an immediate nuclear response. On the frozen tail, tiny humanoid figures stand caught mid-emergence.
