Wheeljack

As an Autobot, Wheeljack is a transforming robotic lifeform whose age runs to millions of years. The crossover's group illustration places him at the bottom left among his fellow Autobots, carrying his classic look from the Transformers series into the Evangelion setting.

The novel gives Wheeljack limited individual focus, but his role paints him as a communicator and a technical mind. He serves as the Autobots' radio contact during the climactic battle, and once the alliance with NERV forms, his first instinct is to strike up conversation with the organization's scientists.

Wheeljack reaches Earth alongside the other Autobots and finds Tokyo-3 under threat from the Angels. He is present when the ghost of Starscream possesses one of the creatures, birthing the giant hybrid Angel-Scream. As Optimus Prime, empowered by an Evangelion, battles the monster, Misato Katsuragi radios Wheeljack with a grim update: NERV has no Evangelions left, and everything rides on Prime beating the Angel-Decepticon. After the victory, the Autobots formally join forces with NERV, and Wheeljack settles in to talk shop with their science staff.
