The premise imagines NERV successfully cloning Angels such as the Fourth and Sixth, then channeling that breakthrough into a competitive attack-exercise system between players. Each player governs their own New Tokyo-3, framed as a fortress city under constant threat from other players' Angel-clone forces rather than a single scripted invasion.

Gameplay

Play splits into two loops. On offense, players research and mass-produce Angel clones to send against other players' cities and take their resources. On defense, players lay out fortress-city infrastructure, positron cannons, and N2 mines, deploying an Evangelion unit to intercept incoming clone attacks when conditions allow. It follows the base-building, attack-and-raid structure familiar from Clash of Clans-style strategy games, reskinned with Evangelion hardware and threats.

Development and Release

DeNA developed and published the app, launching the Android version on March 6, 2014, with an iOS release following on March 14, 2014, after passing seventy thousand pre-registrations. The game shut down about a year later, on March 31, 2015.
