Overview

The Evangelion Final Model, also known as the Evangelion Final Stage, is the ultimate form of Shinji Ikari's machine in the Neon Genesis Evangelion: ANIMA novels, evolving directly out of the Super Evangelion. Shinji both pilots it and provides its soul. The transformation occurs as the crew departs NERV Japan for Yomotsu Hirasaka Island, and Misato Katsuragi chooses the name as a wish that humanity never again require an Evangelion.

Role

The unit measures 120 meters and weighs somewhere between 3,500 and 4,000 tons. Its four shoulder pylons are Quantum Wave Mirrors, devices that regulate the Third Impact energy flowing through the machine and keep Shinji's heart from bursting under the strain. Mounted at the rear is the Time Break, a black disc containing what little of Third Impact remains: 0.82 seconds of it at the outset, spent down with every use, yet potent enough to bend space-time itself. When flight is commanded, the pylons reposition themselves around the disc and wings of light emerge. For the final mission the unit carries a Powered 8 rifle, the Bizen Osafune sword, and the Spear of Lucretius.
