Revival of Evangelion

Revival of Evangelion is not the same as The End of Evangelion. It is a 159-minute program that combines the recap DEATH(TRUE)squared with The End of Evangelion into a single unified theatrical presentation, released on 08 March 1998.

Revival of Evangelion is regarded as the definitive final assembly of the Neon Genesis Evangelion movie material, joining DEATH(TRUE)squared with The End of Evangelion into one 159-minute program. It brings the complete theatrical story of Evangelion's alternate ending into a single sitting.

Revival of Evangelion is a 1998 theatrical release that unifies two prior Evangelion films into one 159-minute program. Its first half is DEATH(TRUE)squared, a revised recap distinguished by the restored image of Adam in Gendo's hand, and its second half is The End of Evangelion.

Revival of Evangelion combines two official theatrical films, DEATH(TRUE)squared and The End of Evangelion, that had already been released as part of the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise. Written by Hideaki Anno, it stands as the franchise's own definitive final assembly of that movie material.

Revival of Evangelion's two halves later appeared on discs nine and ten of the Renewal of Evangelion box set, labeled Revival of Evangelion and Evangelion, The Feature Film. It also received a special theatrical exhibition at the Fushimi Million Theater in Nagoya on 24 June 2006.
