Yōji Enokido is a Japanese screenwriter and novelist from Shiga Prefecture who contributed episode scripts to the original Neon Genesis Evangelion television series produced by Gainax.
Enokido was one of the credited screenwriters on the original Neon Genesis Evangelion television series, contributing scripts during the show's 1995-1996 run at Gainax. His work on the series came early in a screenwriting career that would soon expand into other landmark anime titles from the same creative circle.
Before moving into anime, Enokido worked at Nippon Telenet Corporation on MSX-era personal computer communication services. As a screenwriter he went on to write for a wide range of acclaimed anime, penning scripts for Revolutionary Girl Utena and FLCL, later contributing to RahXephon, and picking up further writing credits on Ouran High School Host Club, Star Driver, Bungo Stray Dogs and the original Sailor Moon series. He also wrote a three-volume FLCL novelization that Tokyopop published in the United States between 2008 and 2009.
