Personality

Composed and serious, Akaboshi thinks clearly under pressure and rarely loses his head. The way he issues orders marks him as the group's leader, or at least its second whenever Shiranami is away. His judgement shows in the field as well, since he recognises when a fight has turned against them and pulls his squad back the moment Utakata's Six-Tails chakra makes an opponent too dangerous to face.

History

His fighting style revolves around cooperation ninjutsu, with his teammates funnelling their chakra into him while he unleashes the actual technique. He can perceive and shatter barriers, raise a pyramid-shaped barrier that detonates on its trapped victims, or bind a foe in black rope. A signature move traps enemies inside a draining prison of pale purple chakra that saps their strength, while on offence he can conjure a large shard that splinters into impaling fragments or drive lightning through the ground beneath a target.

Akaboshi leads the Magaki to Mount Katsuragi in search of the Tsuchigumo kinjutsu, breaking the mountain's barrier and quickly downing Tonbee before learning that Hotaru carries the technique. The hunt draws the group into repeated clashes with Utakata, who bests them single-handedly until they snare him in their barrier. After a rigged scroll lets Hotaru slip away and their leader reveals Utakata's bounty, the squad ambushes Naruto with their draining seal, only for his Nine-Tails chakra to break free. Sensing the danger, Akaboshi orders a retreat to the Tsuchigumo village, where the hypnotised townsfolk are set against the Leaf. Team Yamato eventually arrives, and all four members of the Magaki are beaten.
