Personality

Ereki is a man of business through and through, forever fixed on what lies ahead. He openly ties his company's rise to what he achieved in the Fourth Shinobi World War and holds shinobi in high regard, which is why he insists that Denki study ninjutsu beside his books, so the boy can defend himself rather than lean on others. His manner is severe, so much so that he struck his son without a moment's pause when Denki objected, yet he is also quick to voice pride in the boy's efforts and to spur him on. In his own time he is a devoted collector for the Extreme: Shinobi Picture Scrolls card game.

History

On the eve of Denki's first day at the Academy, Ereki slapped the boy for balking at going, then the following morning wrote to the Seventh Hokage offering to cover the destruction the Thunder Rail had caused across Konoha. He was thankful, later, when Denki declared at a parent-teacher meeting that he meant to become a shinobi. During the Byakuya Gang's crime spree, when protesters swayed by the thieves turned on companies including his own, Denki saw through the genjutsu behind the unrest and reported it, drawing his father's praise.

Around the same time, torn over which shinobi to feature in the next run of Extreme: Shinobi Picture Scrolls cards, Ereki was lobbied by Boruto, Shikadai, and Metal Lee to include Shino, though Metal soon switched his vote to Rock Lee; Denki's suggestion of settling it by fan poll so impressed his father that he agreed, and once both teachers won fame for rescuing a girl from a fire, the pair were added. A brush with a time-displaced Boruto, who spoke of the train network in his own era, planted an idea that later had Ereki wandering the village in search of fresh inspiration. When Konoha staged its own Chūnin Exam, he watched the broadcast and wept with joy as Denki was raised to chūnin.
