Chubby and small, Faz has a round face with ruddy cheeks and a crop of short black hair. His everyday wear is plain: a basic pink shirt, grey overalls, and a pair of sandals.

Personality

Faz behaves like a typical little kid, forever grumbling over whatever bothers him, fish being a prime example, though he later concedes he enjoys it after all. Hard work holds no appeal for him. He does his best to push the memory of his ruined village out of mind and comes close to weeping when someone states the loss too bluntly. No less impressionable than his playmates, he is dazzled by Naruto's simple feat of standing on water and keeps trying to copy it with Leo and Lando. His deepest attachment is to the makeshift household that took him in: the guardians Dokku and Shiseru, the children Leo, Lando, and Sora, the girl Miina, and himself among them.

History

Faz is only a young child when raiders overrun Tonika Village. Amid the flames, Dokku drags him and two other little ones, Sora and Lando, to safety, and the survivors soon fall in with Leo and Miina as they head for Hachō Village. On a later fishing trip, Lando's know-how helps Leo fill a whole pail, yet Faz balks at eating, claiming fish was never on his mother's table. Leo lashes out that his mother is dead now, and the boy dissolves into tears until Miina calms him with a melody tapped out on a wooden sticcado.

The children bolt when Naruto and Sakura appear, easing up only once Naruto snatches Dokku and Miina back from a bridge about to give way. Sharing a meal afterward, Faz is surprised to find fish agreeable, and the group bathes once they finish. Like Leo and Lando, he is amazed watching Naruto tread across water and fails over and over trying to match the technique before all three give up. The following day the kids nudge a sickly Naruto into drilling them. On the Hachō shoreline, Faz mourns his parents alongside Sora and Lando, then brightens when Naruto points out that Shiseru and Dokku genuinely care for them. He is as rattled as everyone when Shiseru strikes Miina for pestering Naruto, and again when the reanimated Tonika Village Head turns up beside Disonasu. Konoha reinforcements arrive, letting Dokku and Shiseru move the youngsters clear as Kabuto's side pulls back.

Home again, the group sits wordless for hours until Faz finally cracks, sobbing over Dokku, whom Kabuto has carried off. The others join his tears before Leo pulls himself together and spurs them to mount a rescue on their own. Bearing the final tones needed to power the Saezuri to Tonika's ruins, they meet Kabuto and Disonasu holding Dokku hostage. Disonasu sets the Ama no Hoko in motion, and as Konoha's shinobi engage the reanimated fighters, the children run with Shiseru, dodging the lightning it hurls until Dokku, once a village guard, insists he alone can quell it and turns back. Shiseru urges Faz to shed his fussy streak and look after the rest. When Naruto loses his grip and begins twisting into Kurama's form, Miina halts the transformation, and the children beg him to rescue Shiseru as she plunges off a cliff. Naruto catches her, destroys the double of himself, and the reunited family piles onto him in relief.
