Appearance

Jiraiya once remarked how much Naruto takes after his father, sharing Minato's spiky yellow-blond hair and blue eyes, while his own eyes and face take their shape from his mother. The three whisker-like lines on each cheek are his signature feature, and their likeness to Nawaki once led Dan Kato to mistake him amid the great war. Short for his age in Part I, he had outgrown Sakura by Part II, and the green goggles he first wore on his brow were set aside the moment he became a genin.

His Part I look centered on an orange and blue jacket marked with the red Uzumaki swirl across the back, orange trousers, and the blue forehead protector Iruka gave him at graduation. During his years training with Jiraiya the outfit wore out and was replaced by a trimmer version in which the blue pieces turned black. He lost his right arm in the war and later received a fully working prosthetic grown from Hashirama Senju's cells and wrapped in bandages. As Hokage he adopted a white cape edged with a red flame pattern, the words Seventh Hokage running down the back, echoing his father's mantle.

Personality

Loud, spirited, and unconventional, Naruto is often likened to Hashirama Senju, and he inherited his mother's habit of tacking Dattebayo onto the end of his sentences when his feelings run high. He thrives on competition and is unafraid to ask for help, yet he can be naive, forgetful, and slow to absorb ideas unless they are broken down into simple comparisons. Aware of his own flaws, he admits that his bravado masks embarrassment, though he is quietly observant and holds onto details others overlook.

Years spent as a friendless, resented orphan shaped his hunger for acknowledgement, which as a boy he chased through pranks meant to make people notice him, even in scolding. That craving grew into his dream of becoming Hokage and, in time, into a wish to shield the people dear to him. His guiding nindo, never to break his word, anchors an unshakable belief that effort and persistence can achieve anything, a conviction most visible in his refusal to give up on Sasuke. After the death of Jiraiya and hearing Nagato's tragic story, he resolved to end that cycle of hatred and bring genuine peace, and his kindness, which the Sage of Six Paths saw as a rare gift, lets him reach even Kurama.

History

Born on October 10th to the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki, the previous Nine-Tails host, Naruto took his name from the hero of Jiraiya's first novel, making the Sannin his godfather. A masked Tobi attacked on the night of his birth, tore the Nine-Tails free from Kushina, and turned it loose on Konoha. To stop the beast, Minato split its chakra and sealed the Yang half inside the infant Naruto at the cost of his own life, and both parents died protecting him. Raised as an orphan who never knew his lineage, Naruto was ostracized by most of the village, which saw only the creature within him, and he answered his isolation with attention-seeking pranks.

At the Academy he found a surrogate brother in Iruka Umino and a one-sided rival in Sasuke Uchiha, and after finally graduating he joined Team Kakashi and set his sights on the Hokage seat. Long stretches of training under mentors such as Jiraiya, Kakashi, and the toad sage Fukasaku sharpened a boy who had failed the graduation exam three times into a ninja strong enough to overcome members of Akatsuki. Learning to control Kurama's power alongside Killer B carried him further still, and in that war he brought down reincarnated Kage and jinchuriki, with many crediting him as the decisive factor in the victory.

The war cost Naruto his right arm in the final clash with Sasuke, whom he at last reached as an equal, and it cemented his standing as a hero across the whole shinobi world. He went on to marry Hinata Hyuga, start a family, and realize his lifelong ambition by becoming the Seventh Hokage, regarded by many as the mightiest shinobi ever to live. His enormous chakra reserves, a legacy of being Kurama's host from birth, along with mastery of senjutsu and signature techniques, place him among the few able to stand against world-threatening foes.
