Fugai served as a knight in Haido's self-styled utopian army during the hunt for the Stone of Gelel. She could shift into a werewolf-like beast and loose shattering howls, but the very hearing that sharpened in that form became the weakness Sakura Haruno used to kill her.

Appearance

Fugai went into battle in a blue knight's uniform, a purple shirt showing beneath it and pink accents marking the armour. Long elbow-length warmers in black covered her arms, and a cape lined with white hung from her shoulders over a dark body layer. She had pale skin, violet eyes, and light brown hair worn long. When she took on her beast form, that hair turned white and her gaze shifted to a menacing red, though her armour stayed in place.

Personality

A short-tempered and forceful woman, Fugai reached for violence whenever she wanted results. She turned on Temujin in a rage for returning without the Gelel intelligence she expected, snarling at him even though he had never been told what to look for. Facing Sakura Haruno, her cruelty and overconfidence showed plainly; she was so certain of an easy kill that she wrote her opponent off entirely, which set up her downfall.

History

In league with Ranke, Kamira, and Haido, Fugai took part in the raid on Temujin's village that sought the Stone of Gelel; the strike claimed the lives of Temujin's parents and swept him into their ranks. A fragment of the Gelel stone lodged in her body granted her a monstrous change of shape into a wolf-like creature. In that state she let out howls powerful enough to split stone, crack the ground, and hurl enemies backward with sheer sound, while her senses of smell and hearing sharpened to a degree rivaling the Inuzuka; even after Sakura blinded her, she tracked the girl by the scent of blood. The transformation ran in two stages, the first a black-furred beast with red eyes, the second a fanged half-human hybrid.

She was on the verge of killing Kahiko for information about the stone when Shikamaru Nara and Sakura stepped in. Caught by the Shadow Imitation Technique, she wrenched free by taking her beast form and fled. The two met again inside Haido's stronghold, where Sakura turned the wolf's own gifts against her: she drew Fugai beneath a set of large chimes, and the reflected howl rebounded into her heightened ears, leaving her stunned. Rigged explosive tags then brought the chimes crashing down and killed her.
