Appearance
Dark, spiky hair and round spectacles mark Furui's look, worn with the usual Cloud-nin flak jacket, shin guards, and a forehead protector. He and his son look strikingly alike.
Personality
The anime fleshes him out as a courageous man devoted to his village. When morale wavers, he urges his fellow fighters to keep the beast pinned, warning that surrender would spell ruin for the Hidden Cloud.
History
The Third Raikage handpicked Furui for a specialist unit tasked with reining in the Eight-Tails' earlier host whenever the beast slipped its control and rampaged. In that duty he swung a weighted chain to pin the creature, and the anime credits him with Lightning Release deft enough to lock the beast in place so his comrades could rush in and hold it fast. The role ultimately killed him. Around thirty years before the Fourth Shinobi World War, the Eight-Tails broke loose during one such struggle and ran him through with a horn. His death soured the once-warm bond that his son Motoi shared with Killer B, after B took up the beast as its next jinchūriki.
