Hotarubi

Big brown eyes sit beneath a short, unruly mop of black hair. Hotarubi's forehead protector, in a pale purple that marks it as Hoshigakure's, lets a lock of hair spill down past its lower-left corner, and a flak jacket in the same soft purple completes his look.

Hotarubi speaks little, yet his devotion to Hoshigakure runs deep, deep enough that he would take the Star itself to make certain no one else ever suffers the training's aftereffects.

Alongside Natsuhi, Hotarubi completed Hoshigakure's brutal and perilous star training, leaving him fluent in the Mysterious Peacock Method, and his jonin rank spoke to real power. Shaken by the harm the regimen inflicted, the couple made off with the star, only for the Third Hoshikage, backed by his Anbu, to run them down. The Hoshikage, as it happened, shared their unease and had already weighed ending the practice, yet feared the village's more warlike faction would restore it at the first opening. He vowed to pause the training and asked the two to keep a distant watch over Hoshigakure should those hardliners move to revive it. In time, the aftereffects of the star training finally claimed Hotarubi's life.
