History
Jirō was placed on a squad with his brothers under the command of Kakashi Hatake, who tested the group with his bell exercise. When the trial went badly, Jirō was tied up as a penalty and told his brothers to go ahead and eat the meals their instructor had left within reach. Because the brothers simply obeyed him, Kakashi marked all of them as failures. Some time later the three returned to thank their former teacher for sending them back to the Academy, having finally understood the point of the exercise, a gesture that took Kakashi by surprise.
