Kakashi Hatake is a shinobi of Konohagakure's Hatake clan, famed as the Copy Ninja and as Kakashi of the Sharingan. A gifted leader others lean on despite his distaste for responsibility, he drills teamwork into Team 7, the very lesson his friend Obito Uchiha handed him along with a Sharingan, and later rises to become the Sixth Hokage.
Almost nobody sees the whole of Kakashi's face. A cloth mask has hidden everything below his nose since childhood, worn so constantly that even his ninken struggle to picture him without it; the rare glimpses reveal a slim jaw, a beauty mark near the left side of his mouth, and looks striking enough to leave onlookers like Teuchi and Ayame flustered. Above the mask sit lazy dark-grey eyes and silver hair that leans to one side, a near-copy of his father Sakumo. A wound taken amid the Third Shinobi World War scarred his left eye, later kept behind a slanted forehead protector because a transplanted Sharingan lay beneath it; after Naruto gave him back the original eye near the war's close, he settled the band level across his brow once more.
Through most of the story he dresses in Konoha's standard kit: a flak jacket, dark blue trousers, a long-sleeved top, and fingerless gloves plated on the back of the hand. As Hokage he adds a red armband, boots, and the office's formal headpiece and haori over a full-length kimono marked with the kanji for Sixth Hokage. Earlier phases showed him in different gear, from an Academy scarf to an Anbu suit topped by a fox mask, and he still carries the flame tattoo of that old posting on his shoulder. He also keeps a full civilian cover, the shaggy-haired reporter Sukea, built from a wig, tinted contacts, and makeup that buries his scar.
Independent and sharp-eyed since boyhood, Kakashi carries a bored, unhurried air and keeps people at a distance, a manner some read as arrogance even though he stays genuinely modest about his swelling fame. His notorious lateness and threadbare excuses are largely a pose he sheds the instant something truly matters. Beneath the calm sits grief. The deaths of his squadmates Obito and Rin came to define him, and he passes long stretches at the Memorial Stone confessing his regrets to the friends he feels he failed.
Rin's death drove him into the Anbu and a spell of cold, near-suicidal recklessness before Obito's example reshaped him into a man who sets his teammates above any mission and answers cruelty toward comrades with rare, merciless fury. He demands that same loyalty from would-be pupils, washing out every squad until Team 7 cleared the bar, then grows attached enough to blame himself for Sasuke's fall. A lifelong string of contests with Might Guy, an unshakeable devotion to the Icha Icha novels, and, in retirement, an old man's cadence paired with a habit of offloading chores round out the picture.
Counted among the strongest ninja Konoha has ever raised, Kakashi is a certified genius who ran real missions while still an Academy pupil and shot up the ranks. His reputation is said to rival a whole nation's; Akatsuki's S-rank members respect him, he traded blows with Kisame and Kakuzu without losing, and he once held his own against the adult Obito. He is a top-tier generalist, reckoned smarter than Shikamaru, keener of nose than Kiba, and sharper with a blade than Rock Lee. Modest chakra reserves early on forced immaculate control, but they grew enough by Part II to spend his heavy techniques freely.
Lightning is his native affinity, and after failing to load a Rasengan with it he built the Chidori, refining it into the Lightning Cutter; later, as Hokage, he devised Purple Electricity to replace it. He wields all five elements plus Yin and Yang, keeps a pack of tracking ninken, and handles nearly any weapon, from the massive Kubikiribocho to his father's tanto. Obito's gifted Sharingan made him the Copy Ninja, credited with over a thousand stolen techniques, though as a non-Uchiha it drains him and stays covered until needed. Rin's death awakened his Mangekyo and its Kamui, which warps targets away or turns him briefly intangible; when Obito's spirit lent him both eyes near the war's end, he even manifested a Complete Body Susanoo before the power faded. Above all the jutsu, the Sage of Six Paths judged his true gift to be leadership, the strength that proved decisive against Kaguya Otsutsuki.

Kakashi Hatake is a hero of Konohagakure, a leader who drills teamwork into Team 7 and eventually rises to become the Sixth Hokage. Though he carries deep grief over friends he feels he failed, he answers cruelty toward comrades with rare, merciless fury in their defense.
Kakashi Hatake does become Hokage, rising to serve as Konohagakure's Sixth Hokage after a career as its Copy Ninja. As Hokage he wears a red armband, boots, and the office's formal headpiece and haori over a kimono marked with the kanji for Sixth Hokage.
Kakashi Hatake is known as the Copy Ninja and as Kakashi of the Sharingan, credited with copying over a thousand techniques thanks to the Sharingan given to him by his friend Obito Uchiha. He is equally famed for the teamwork he instills in Team 7 and for later becoming the Sixth Hokage.
Kakashi's signature techniques include the Chidori and its refined form, the Lightning Cutter, both born from his native Lightning Release affinity. His Sharingan also grants him Kamui, a Mangekyo Sharingan ability that can warp targets away or make him briefly intangible.
Kakashi Hatake was shaped by his teacher Minato Namikaze and his Team Minato squadmates Obito Uchiha and Rin Nohara, whose deaths came to define him. Obito's example, and the Sharingan and lesson in teamwork he left behind, reshaped Kakashi into the leader who later guided Team 7.
