Karin is an Uzumaki-blooded kunoichi and sensor, once of Kusagakure, who served Orochimaru before joining Sasuke Uchiha's team Taka. Her rare tracking and healing gifts make her invaluable, even as her fixation on Sasuke drives much of her story.
Karin carries the red hair typical of the Uzumaki clan, worn in a lopsided cut that is spiky and short down the right side while long and straight on the left, framing crimson eyes and fair skin. Narrow brown glasses conceal a hidden blade, and her Part II outfit pairs a navel-baring lavender top with short black shorts and long dark stockings. Bite marks left by those she has healed cover her chest, neck, and arms, tucked out of sight beneath her clothing. Her look shifts with her allegiances, from a hooded Akatsuki cloak to, years after the war, a white shirt with a purple tie and one side of her head shaved, her old scars by then healed over.
Karin swings between hard-edged control and open flirtation, quick to violence when Suigetsu needles her and quick to melt around Sasuke. In the anime she judges men by the feel of their chakra; Sasuke's once dazzled her before its growing coldness frightened her, while Naruto's warmth set her at ease. Her devotion to Sasuke bordered on obsession, from hoarding a sweat-soaked shirt of his to charging onto a battlefield unarmed when she sensed him dying. That loyalty snapped after he ran her through to reach Danzō and then ordered her killed, and she declared herself finished with him. Years later she made peace, content that Sasuke was happy with his family, fond of his daughter Sarada, and on far easier terms with Suigetsu.
Her defining talent is the Mind's Eye of the Kagura, a sensing power that reads any target's chakra with no conscious effort, pinpointing a specific person across great distance, gauging their reserves, catching lies through chakra fluctuations, and even spotting genjutsu; she can also mask her own chakra completely, at the cost of her other techniques. Her Uzumaki heritage grants a formidable life force, vast chakra and vitality, and a healing method in which others bite her to draw on that chakra and mend at once, potent enough to restore Tsunade's reserves yet risky to use more than once a day. From the same lineage she manifests an incomplete form of the Adamantine Sealing Chains, turning them against Tobi's giant wooden statue, and she commands several nature transformations. Sharp and analytical, she unravelled the secret of Danzō's Izanagi mid-battle and, while imprisoned, concealed a lock-pick and faked instability to lull her guards.

We ranked the six most popular women of Naruto from worst to first, and our number one is going to start a fight. The official poll got it wrong....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
Karin belongs to the Uzumaki clan, the same clan as Naruto Uzumaki, but the story does not establish a direct family relationship between the two of them.
Karin served under Orochimaru before joining Sasuke Uchiha's team Taka as its sensor, later devoting herself to Sasuke through the Fourth Shinobi World War; she survived the war and, years afterward, reconciled with Sasuke, stayed close with her former teammate Suigetsu, and grew fond of Sasuke's daughter, Sarada.
Karin's devotion to Sasuke Uchiha bordered on obsession, from keeping a sweat-soaked shirt of his to rushing unarmed onto a battlefield when she sensed him dying, though her feelings cooled sharply after he stabbed her to reach Danzo and ordered her killed.
Karin did not fall in love with Naruto Uzumaki; her romantic devotion in the story is directed at Sasuke Uchiha, though in the anime she notes that Naruto's chakra felt warm and calming compared to Sasuke's.
Karin's defining ability is the Mind's Eye of the Kagura, a sensing technique that reads a target's chakra to locate them, gauge their reserves, detect lies, and spot genjutsu, and her Uzumaki heritage also gives her a powerful healing ability in which others bite her to draw on her chakra and mend their wounds.
