Kohan Yamanaka

Standing tall with fair skin, Kohan looks out through pale blue eyes. His blond hair, cut in a hime style, drops to the middle of his back and is gathered high into a ponytail. For clothing he keeps to the newest Leaf shinobi gear: elevated sandals, trousers in grey, a navy long-sleeved top, and a flak vest in green.

A firm sense of discipline runs through him, and he approaches his duties with real gravity. Lateness irritates him, and he refuses to soften hard truths for the sake of comfort. That sternness sits beside a generous streak, since he genuinely wants to lend aid wherever it is needed. He also makes no secret of his admiration for Ino Yamanaka.

Having been drilled in the Yamanaka arts, Kohan is understood to command his clan's mind-based methods. His real specialty is perception: he ranks among the village's capable sensors and does his work in concert with the Barrier Team. Beyond practicing the skill himself, he is able to pass it on to others as an instructor. During a supervised run of Konohagakure's new automated detection setup, he was paired with his young clansman Inojin and told to catch staged infiltrators. Inojin's inability to secure even one target caught him off guard, so when the boy asked for advice, Kohan obliged by likening the exercise to their clan's secret techniques. When Inojin flagged a chakra that felt wrong, Kohan checked it and found the signature already on record, yet Inojin held firm that something did not add up. Shikadai backed the boy, and Kohan let them look deeper, a choice that uncovered both a genuine intruder and a gap in the system. He offered Ino his congratulations over her son's find, though she conceded that sensing was not Inojin's strength and that the boy would need his own path. Later on, he hurried to reach Chōchō and Inojin to correct a mission based on stale intelligence about Jingo Kumano's standing as a Kumo defector, and he apologized at length for the error.
