Appearance

Koyuki has long black hair whose bangs sweep down each side of her face, set above violet-blue eyes. On set she wears full makeup, pink shadow and red lipstick, along with a green blouse over a pink jacket and brown gloves. As a girl her hair was short and tied into two low tails, and she dressed in a gown belted by an obi just under the chest, with a headpiece wrapped around her brow.

Personality

Cold and distant on the surface, Koyuki first comes across as indifferent, brushing off children who ask for her autograph. The chill traces back to childhood trauma. For ten years she treated every warmer feeling as nothing more than a performance. Beneath that frost, though, lies a kind and dutiful woman, and her genuine self resurfaces after Naruto enters her life, thawing her back into someone truly gentle.

History

In her youth, Koyuki's father spoke of spring, a season the endlessly frozen Land of Snow had never known, and he entrusted her with a hexagonal crystal, the key to a treasure meant to bring it. Her uncle Dotō shattered that hope, seizing power in a coup and killing her father for the treasure, a wound that scarred her for a decade. Kakashi, then a young Anbu, rescued her, and she fled to reinvent herself as the actress Yukie Fujikaze, rising to fame across the Land of Fire while playing every emotion as an act.

Years later a film shoot draws her back to the Land of Snow and straight into Dotō, who hunts her crystal necklace. Imprisoned, she listens as Naruto, one of her biggest fans, shares how he overcame his own painful past. After Team 7 breaks her out, she hands Dotō the necklace, claiming her capture had been a ruse, and lunges to stab him, only to be seized as he uncovers that the treasure is a generator able to turn the Land of Snow into a Land of Spring. Naruto finishes Dotō with the Rasengan, and as the machine blooms her father's dream into reality, Koyuki weeps with joy and smiles for the first time in ten years. She resolves to keep acting while taking up her father's mantle as daimyō. Away from the screen she rides well, handles a short blade, and hides pepper spray inside her earrings, small talents that serve the performer as readily as the ruler.
