Appearance

Long grey hair reaches down Midori's back, tied off in a ponytail, with sideburns that run into a beard. Reddish-tinted glasses hold black lenses over his eyes, and a black Kusagakure bandanna-style forehead protector knots behind his head. A roomy white jacket, laced shut with strings, sits over a white shirt, and a pale blue scarf edged in orange loops his neck with one end trailing down his front.

Personality

Midori thinks highly of his own skill and feels no shame about resorting to dirty tricks when they serve his sponsor's wager. That bravado evaporates the instant his partner is butchered before his eyes, at which point he breaks into panic, fleeing while he screams and pleads for a mercy that never comes.

History

During the Chunin Exams, Midori and Shiba watch the final round in Konohagakure. As the bout between Sasuke Uchiha and Gaara approaches, the pair intercept Gaara on his way to the arena, sent, in the anime, by a daimyo they have been hired to protect. With many daimyo laying bets on the fights, the two press Gaara to throw the match so that wagers on Sasuke will pay off. Gaara takes the demand as an insult and kills them both on the spot, drenching his sand in their blood. That killing sates his bloodlust, and shortly afterward he pays no mind to Naruto Uzumaki and Shikamaru Nara when he happens upon them.
