History

What made Musai useful was his grasp of the arts used by Kumo's older generations, which let him read the resurrected Toroi mid-fight, and his reflexes were quick enough to dodge that enemy's shuriken; the anime credits him as well with solid taijutsu and a gift for leading. When the great shinobi war reached its confrontation phase, a reincarnated Toroi sprang an ambush on him and Nonota. Musai moved to warn his partner about Toroi's Magnet Release, but the strike came before he finished, and once Nonota had been magnetised, Musai spelled the danger out in full. Rescue came when Killer B and Naruto Uzumaki arrived, Naruto driving a Rasengan into Toroi, and B revealed that their absent ally F had really been a White Zetsu in disguise.

Back with his regiment and lugging the sealed Toroi, Musai watched Torune call up a batch of Kabuto's rejects, his own father Osoi among them, a man he teased for never climbing past chunin. He gave his word to tell the Raikage that Osoi and Toroi had fallen defending the village, then bid the man goodbye as the seal took him. The anime later frees Musai from the Infinite Tsukuyomi through Naruto and Sasuke.
