Green hair gathered into a bun crowns Pakura's head, held in place by a slim needle pushed through it, while strands of uneven length with orange tips hang beside each cheek. She stands on the taller side, with pale skin and brown eyes that show no pupils. Her wardrobe combines a sleeveless top left bare at the back, edged with lapels front and rear, with tight cropped trousers and a sash wound at the waist. Purple warmers climb the length of both arms, and wrappings bind her thighs and ankles. Following her revival through the reincarnation jutsu, the only shift in her looks was the dulled grey of the whites of her eyes.

A sense of principle guided Pakura, who was taken aback at the thought of raising a hand against foes she saw as little more than children. The anime frames her as embittered toward Suna and Kiri alike, the pair of villages whose treachery had ended her life. That resentment loosens once she spots her old pupil Maki among the ranks facing her; stirred by the girl's resolve, she elects to grant the young fighters a chance to bend the future before her mind is scrubbed clean again. While she still drew breath, she maintained that devotion to family, friends, and home village forged a shinobi's real strength.

Fame followed Pakura throughout her career, and it was precisely that reputation which led Kabuto Yakushi to reanimate her for Akatsuki's cause. The anime presents her as a sharp reader of combat, quick to pierce through trickery and answer it in an instant, and a capable hand at close quarters who could trade blows with a blade specialist like Omoi while armed only with a kunai. Her signature gift was Scorch Release, a bloodline limit she alone is known to possess. By fusing two elements, thought to be fire and wind, she conjures searing orbs that desiccate a target's body until it mummifies, and her Scorch Release: Extremely Steaming Murder let her cut down numerous Allied soldiers thanks to her blistering speed. In the anime she once merged every orb into a single enormous sphere fierce enough to char a wide stretch of forest.

Called back to serve in the Fourth Shinobi World War, she took the field beside Gari, Toroi, Haku, and Zabuza Momochi. Once Kabuto stripped away her awareness, she carved through the Allied ranks unthinkingly, then served alongside Gari as a living vessel to summon the earlier generation of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. In the anime her reunion with Maki briefly returned her to herself, and she pinned Gari down with her flames so her student's squad could slip away. She was eventually sealed by the Third Division, and when the reincarnation technique was undone her spirit rose back to the afterlife, her final thoughts resting on Maki.
