
Chapter 522 turns the reanimated dead into hollow weapons as Kabuto strips away their minds and hurls them at the Third Division. Far off, two prisoners exploit the war's chaos to slip free of the Land of Iron.
Kabuto wipes out the individual personalities of Zabuza, Haku, Pakura, and Gari, reducing them to obedient tools. Stripped of will, the revived fighters are set loose against the Third Division on the battlefield.
Within the Land of Iron, Suigetsu and Jūgo take advantage of a security lapse, caused by so many forces being pulled away for the war, to break out of their confinement. Meanwhile, the former members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist are called up as reinforcements for the fighting.
This installment is numbered 522 and gathered into volume 55, set during the Fourth Shinobi World War: Confrontation arc. Viz Media titled it We Died. in English. It first ran in Japan across the combined issue 5-6 of 2011.
