Preta Path

In life the man was tall and thickset, with small, beady brown eyes and brown hair tucked beneath a bandanna-style forehead protector. He dressed in a tan shirt layered over a black one, and his skin carried a noticeably darker tone than it would in death. Repurposed as the Preta Path, his corpse was studded with piercings that served as chakra receivers for Nagato's remote control: rows of small spikes along the lower lip, twin studs on the nose, a stud on each cheek, spikes through the ears, and studs set near each shoulder. His hair was dyed orange and bound into a short ponytail, and the Rinnegan surfaced in his eyes.

What little is recorded of the man paints him as chronically discontented. His Naruto Mobile profile describes someone forever unhappy with the state of the world and quick to grumble about everything around him. As a farmer, his part in the fighting had kept him from working the land meant to feed his family.

Jiraiya first met the future Preta Path while wandering the world, and once the Kusagakure man died his body passed into Nagato's hands. As one of the Six Paths of Pain, the corpse was put to work across many years: the full set was used to topple and slay Hanzō, and when Jiraiya infiltrated Amegakure to probe Akatsuki, the Preta Path helped bring the sage down. In the anime it took part in capturing the Six-Tails, and during the assault on Konoha it fought alongside the other Paths before being defeated by Naruto Uzumaki.
