Riichi (ninja)

Riichi's brown hair falls to his shoulders and is parted into bangs. His most striking feature is a sunken cast to his eyes that leaves him looking perpetually worn out. For dress he keeps to the standard Konoha shinobi kit, complete with a forehead protector and a flak jacket.

Given the choice, Riichi would sooner follow his own whims than knuckle down to work, and he is not shy about voicing that complaint. For all his grousing, he generally wears a cheerful expression.

Riichi appears alongside Fugaku Uchiha guiding villagers toward the southeast shelter as the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox tore through Konoha. During the Konoha Crush he pulled duty at the East Gate and gripped to his partner that he would rather be watching the Chunin Exams than standing sentry. He was afterward folded into the Niju Shotai and sent to scour an Akatsuki hideout for intelligence, though the raid turned up nothing since none of the S-rank criminals were on hand.

When Pain assaulted the village, Riichi was posted beyond Konoha's borders as a scout with Tsuzumi Sarugaku and a small squad. Remarking that it looked to be another fine day, he and his team were slain when the Six Paths of Pain and Konan arrived, only to be brought back later once Nagato invoked the Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique. A flashback also shows that ninja from the Jomae Village once seized Riichi and held him for ransom, and he was freed through a hostage trade for Hanare.
